Former LC-M standout Russell tossing well for St. Mary’s College

Former Little Cypress-Mauriceville standout softball player Hope Russell is about to wrap up a solid run pitching for St. Mary’s College.
Russell, a senior, has compiled a 11-7 record this season. She has worked 112 innings with 53 strikeouts and a ERA of 2.69.
The Lady Rattlers, a NCAA Division II program, are trying to capture the Heartland Conference. They are currently 29-21 overall and 15-9 in conference play. They are just percentage points behind first-place Texas A&M International (17-10 in conference play).
Russell went 8-3 overall as a junior last season. She was 8-6 as a sophomore and 17-5 as a freshman.
She has compiled a 44-21 career record in 394 innings of work with 159 strikeouts and a overall ERA of 2.56.
Russell was a four-year letterman under LC-M head coach Dena Adkins, advancing to the playoffs all four year. She was named First Team All-District as a pitcher as a senior and selected First Team All-District as a utility player as a junior. She was also named Second Team All-District as a pitcher as a sophomore as was selected Academic All-District all four years of play.
