Bobcats stroll past Mustangs

WEST ORANGE — Kadeon Evans was in the zone on Tuesday, tallying four hits and leading the Orangefield Bobcats to a 20-1 win over West Orange-Stark.  Evans singled in the third, singled in the fourth, doubled in the fifth, and doubled in the fifth.

The Bobcats secured the victory thanks to 13 runs in the fifth inning.  Kaiden DuboseJohnny ArmstrongBrett FregiaMason GonzalesEvans, and  Blake Bradley all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

The Bobcats got things moving in the first inning.  Gonzales singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

The Bobcats notched 13 runs in the fifth inning.  Orangefield put the pressure on, led by doubles by DuboseFregiaEvans, and Evans, singles by Kent Michael and Fregia, a home run by Armstrong, by Bradley, and an error on a ball put in play by Gonzales.

Gonzales was the winning pitcher for Bobcats. He allowed four hits and one run over five innings, striking out four.

Veitch started the game for West Orange-Stark. He allowed six hits and five runs over three innings.  Ramsey and Terrell entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and one inning respectively.

Bobcats collected 17 hits.  EvansMichaelDuboseFregia, and Gonzales all had multiple hits for Bobcats.

The Bobcats move to 17-4-1 (6-2), and will host the Bridge City Cardinals on Friday with senior night scheduled to start around 6:45.
