Update: Man killed in auto-pedestrian crash

UPDATE —The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has identified the pedestrian involved in an early morning crash in Orange County as Joshua Teague, 20, of Mauriceville.  Teague was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Stagner at the crash scene.

This crash remains under investigation and there are no additional details to be released.

PRESS RELEASE — At approximately 4:00 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to an auto-pedestrian crash on Highway 62 in Orange County.  The crash occurred near Daily Road.

Initial reports indicate that a Toyota Tundra pickup truck was traveling southbound on Highway 62.  A pedestrian was walking southbound near the roadway when he was struck by the pickup truck.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Hershel Stagner at the scene.  At this time, Troopers are working to positively identify the deceased victim.

The driver of the Toyota pickup truck, a 28-year-old male from Lumberton, was not injured in the crash.

All information is preliminary as Troopers continue to investigate this fatal crash.
