FANNETT — The Bridge City Cardinals outlasted a pesky Hamshire-Fannett team Tuesday night as they toppled the Longhorns 17-11 at Longhorn Field to remain in first-place in District 22-4A.

Logan Hamm, Justyn Romero and Caleb DuBois each had three hits to spark a red-hot Cardinals (18-7-1, 7-1) offense.

Romero drove in four runs on the night while Hamm drove in two of his own.

The Cardinals overcame a seven-run first inning by the Longhorns (8-14, 1-7) to snag the big win.

Bridge City will visit Orangefield Friday in a nice Orange County showdown.
