In a story changing daily, it now appears Donald G. Brown, the Democrat candidate for Orange County Judge is withdrawing from the race after recent legal issues.

Brown and his spouse, Daniel Spencer, self surrendered to officials on Monday evening in connection with a warrant issued last week for injury to a child.

They were bonded on $10,000 bond each and released about 7 p.m., according to Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

On Tuesday, Bruce Smith, Brown’s attorney, said Brown was not removing his name from the ballot.

On Wednesday, Brown is now claiming he will remove his name from the ballot.

There are steps to having a candidates name removed from the ballot, which starts with contacting the candidate’s party and submitting a notarized form.

At this time, Brown has not contacted the Orange County Democrat Party.

“We have not received the notarized form from Brown, his attorney, or his campaign manager Mark Carter in accordance with state law. Until that happens, Brown is still on the ballot despite his claims,” according to a statement released by the Orange County Democrat Party.
