ORANGEFIELD — After a wild 16-10 finish on Tuesday that gave the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears a big District 22-4A win over Orangefield, the Bears answered the bell again Friday night by rallying for five runs in the top of the seventh inning to turn back the Bobcats once again 9-8 in a nice comeback.

The win puts the Bears in a tie for first-place in the 22-4A standings with Bridge City with four games remaining on the district schedule.

The Bears (23-4, 5-1) picked up 12 hits in the big win while the Bobcats (15-4-1, 4-2) had six.

Jordan Alexander and Anthony Bandiero paced the LC-M hitting arsenal with three hits apiece while John Beeson collected two hits.

Chris Bilbo drove in four runs for the Bears while Michael Lee brought in two.

Brett Fregia had two runs batted in for the Bobcats.

There are no games Tuesday due to STARR testing across the state. The teams will resume their schedules next Friday when LC-M visits Silsbee and Orangefield welcomes in West Orange-Stark.
