Bobcats outslug Tigers, 12-7

SILSBEE — Improving their District 22-4A record to a perfect 4-0, the Orangefield Bobcats out slugged the Silsbee Tigers 12-7 Thursday night at Tiger Field.

The Bobcats (15-2-1) fired up the offense in the first inning.  Kadeon Evans grounded out, scoring one run.

Bobcats scored five runs in the fifth inning.  Brett FregiaMason Gonzales, and Evans all drove in runs in the frame.

Silsbee scored three runs in the third inning. Silsbee’s big inning was driven by a single by Paxton Bryan and a fielder’s choice by Brady Scoggins.

Johnny Armstrong earned the win on the hill for the Bobcats. He went four and a third innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out four.  Evans threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Bryan was on the mound for Silsbee. He lasted two and a third innings, allowing four hits and six runs while striking out two.  Jackson Hardy threw four and two-thirds innings in relief.

Evans led Orangefield with two hits in five at bats.

Silsbee racked up eight hits in the game.  ScogginsAlex Hardy, and Bryan all managed multiple hits for Silsbee.

The Bobcats will visit LC-M on Tuesday.
