Harold “Ben” Benjamin Brown

Harold “Ben” Benjamin Brown, 90, of Conroe, Texas, formerly of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on March 23, 2018, in The Woodlands.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas. Officiating will be Mr. Mark Legendre. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Born in Longview, Texas, on July 18, 1927, he was the son of Louis E. Brown, Jr. and Ada Evelena (Kennedy) Brown. Ben retired from Firestone after 33 years of service. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He played football at Longview High School and briefly attended TCU and A&M. He was a member of the OCAW Union, a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and served as an Elder at the Osborne Road Church of Christ in Bridge City. Church was a big part of his life and Ben enjoyed going to gospel meetings. He loved oil painting and mostly painted landscapes. Ben loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ada Brown; loving wife, Joyce Neumeyer Brown; and 5 siblings.

He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Norwood and husband Charles, of Jasper and Sandra LeBlanc and husband Gary, of Oakridge North; grandchildren, Jennifer LeBlanc, of Houston, Amber Harris and husband David, of Plano, Melissa Fenton and husband Mike, of Montgomery, Anne Robertson and husband Daniel, of Benbrook, and Tim LeBlanc, of Willis; 4 great-granddaughters; and 6 great-grandsons.
