WEST ORANGE — Piling up 14 hits and three home runs, the top-ranked Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears throttled the West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs 16-0 in District 22-4A action at Lady Mustang Field Friday night.

Jonee Villanueva muscled her way two two home runs and four runs batted in to pace the Lady Bears (18-1, 3-0).

Brianna Frenzel went 2-for-2 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored.

Ally White and Renna Toomey each went 2-for-2, both scoring two runs and driving in one. Maddie Murdock was 3-for-3 with a run and a RBI. Megan Peveto had a hit and scored while Emily Landry also had a hit and scored three times.

The Lady Bears will now face a two-game showdown against defending 22-4A champion Bridge City at Bridge City Tuesday and at LC-M next Thursday.

The Lady Mustangs (0-3 in district) will visit Hamshire-Fannett Tuesday.
