Former Bridge City softball standout Kasey Frederick is on a tear once again for the Nicholls State Lady Colonels.

Frederick, a junior, has been a key cog for Nicholls as they stand 19-7 overall but more importantly 6-0 in Southland Conference play.

Frederick is currently second on the team with a .367 batting average. She is also second on the squad with 20 runs batted in and leads the squad with nine doubles.

Frederick has definitely had a nice run in her first three seasons.

As a sophomore last season, Frederick hit .303, seven home runs, 33 RBI 12 doubles and scored 28 runs on her way to a All-Southland Conference First Team selection.

As a freshman she hit .278 with three home runs and 13 RBI and scored 17 runs.

Frederick was a standout in Bridge City all four years. She was named the All-Orange Leader Team’s Offensive Most Valuable Player and was a four-time All-District 21-3A First Team selection.

The Lady Coonels are in a three-game set with Southeastern Louisiana this weekend.
