LC-M grad Fraccastoro, Lady Jacks invading Lamar Friday, Saturday

Stephen F. Austin University’s Taylor Fraccastoro, a former Little Cypress-Mauriceville softball standout, will make her final trek to the Golden Triangle Friday and Saturday as the Lady Jacks take on the Lamar University Lady Cardinals in a three-game set.

Fraccastoro has had a superb senior campaign thus far for the Lady Jacks as she is hitting a lofty .296 with four home runs and 25 runs batted in along with 22 runs scored through 26 games.

Both the Lady Jacks (14-12, 3-3) and Lady Cardinals (15-12, 3-3) will look to forge ahead in the Southland Conference standings with this week’s three-game series.

The two will battle at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Friday and will play again Saturday at 2 p.m.

In her fourth year playing a prominent role for the Lady Jacks, Fraccastoro has picked up 22 home runs and 91 RBI along the way.

Fraccastoro is a two-time All-Southland Conference honorable mention selection, doing that as a freshman and a sophomore.

As a freshman in 2015 she started 46 of 50 games. She hit .261 with nine home runs and 32 RBI. She claimed 171 putouts and made 23 assists as the catcher.

As a sophomore in 2016, she hit .294 with seven home runs and 30 RBI and was one of three players to appear and start in all 57 games. At catcher,, she made 206 putouts and assisated on another 21 from behind the plate.

She was a four-year letter winner and starter for long-time LC-M coach Dena Adkins. She was a three-time All-District selection and The Orange Leader’s Player of the Year in both 2013 and 2014.

After graduating from SFA, Fraccastoro plans on starting Chiropractic school in Houston this summer.
