Bears ranked No. 8 in 4A state baseball poll

LITTLE CYPRESS — With the start of District 22-4A play cranking up Tuesday, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears were ranked No. 8 in the State in the Class 4A poll released by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association poll Monday.

The Bears, led by long-time coach Steve Griffith, open up 22-4A play at home Tuesday against West Orange-Stark.

In other 22-4A openers Tuesday, Bridge City travels to Jasper and Orangefield visits Hamshire-Fannett.

Argyle (14-0) is ranked No. 1 in the 4A poll, followed by Sweeny (16-1), Godley (11-0), Abilene Wylie (10-2), Robinson (9-3), Plesant Grove (10-2), Boerne (12-2), LC-M (18-3), Bushland (15-4) and Iowa Park (11-1).
