Bobcats rally to top Liberty

ORANGEFIELD — A walk-off double propelled the Orangefield Bobcats to a decisive, dramatic victory over Liberty, 12-11 Thursday night.

The Bobcats trailed 11-10 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Brett Fregia doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Orangefield collected 14 hits and Liberty had 12 in the high-scoring affair.

Liberty opened up scoring in the first inning.

The Bobcats scored six runs in the sixth inning.  The Orangefield offense in the inning was led by Johnny ArmstrongKent MichaelMason GonzalesKadeon Evans, and Gunner Jones, who all drove in runs.

Gonzales started on the mound for Bobcats. He allowed seven hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one.

The Bobcats tallied 14 hits in the game.  MichaelArmstrongBlake Bradley, and Fregia all managed multiple hits for Bobcats.  Armstrong and Michael each collected three hits to lead Bobcats.

Johnny Armstrong picked up the win, pitching 4 innings allowing 2 runs, and Kadeon Evans picked up his first save of the year.

 

Liberty tallied 12 hits.

 

The Bobcats end the pre-district schedule with a record of 11-2-1.  They will begin district play Tuesday night at Hamshire Fannett.
