Janet Lemons, Ashley Guillory and China Burks took first place on Friday in the Greater Orange Area Literacy Service’s (GOALS) 19th Annual Spelling Bee at Lamar State College – Orange. Each team consisted of three persons, one alternate and a cheerleader. The event is the major fundraiser for the program, which helps combat illiteracy in Orange County.
