Church Anniversary

Mt. Olive Baptist Church located at 106 West Park Ave. in Orange is asking all MOBC members to please be present at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 18, and we would appreciate it if you know how to contact any former members, as we would love to have them here to fellowship and celebrate with us for this great occasion. We are looking forward to a good time in the Lord. The theme is: The Church Serving With A Heart Like Jesus. Mass Choir Rehearsal is 6 p.m. March 13. Church attire is red and black. Special guest Minister is Reverend R.L. Thompson, Pastor at Greater First Baptist Church in Houston. Mt. Olive Baptist Church pastor is Rev. Ronnie Crockett. For more information call 886-2508.

 

Saint Joseph’s Celebration

St. Mary’s Parish Annual Altar honoring St. Joseph, patron of the Universal Church will be held Sunday, March 18 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 912 West Cherry in Orange. This special event will include a luncheon of Pasta Milanese, baked fish, fried and baked vegetables, stuffed artichokes, assorted vegetable casseroles and many Italian cookies and desserts prepared in the Sicilian tradition. Dine in only. St. Joseph Chaplet will be recited at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Blessing of our Altar at 11 a.m., afterwards the Saints will be served and then all our attendees. Free, and Love Offerings will be accepted by those participating with proceeds being distributed to local charitable organizations.

 

Easter Egg Hunt

MacArthur Baptist Church, 3600 Nightingale (across from Triple L Honda on Strickland), will hold a Gigantic Easter egg Hunt on Easter Sunday, April 1, immediately following the 10:45 a.m. Worship Service (everyone is invited to attend). Church Anniversary

St. Paul C.M.E Church will celebrate 124 years on Sunday, March 18, at 3:03 p.m.  Our theme for this historical occasion will be Growing Stronger, Growing Deeper, Reaching Higher – Isaiah 40:31.  Our special guest will be Rev. David Robinson and the congregation of Douglas Memorial C.M.E. Church of Beaumont, Texas.  The community is invited to join us as we mark another year in our journey. Rev. Gary Chalk is the Pastor of St. Paul C.M.E. Church located at 1201 N. 4th Street, Orange, Texas.

 

Lenten Services

First Church of The Nazarene and Faith United Methodist Church will host Lenten Services at noon on Wednesdays March 14, and March 21 at Faith United Methodist Church located at 8608 MLK Jr. Drive in Orange. Lunch provided. Public is invited.

 

Mt. Calvary Mission Department Work Shop

The Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church will be having their Mission Department Workshop, on Saturday, March 24 at 9:00 am. Registration will be $10 and it will begin at 8:30 a.m. Our theme is “Designed, Defined & Destined For God’s Purpose.” Proverbs 3:15-18. The Speakers for the Workshop will be Michelle Blanchard of Starlight Church Of God In Christ, Hilda Galloway, and Minister Vernike Williams-Pitre, of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

 

Lenten Fish Fry

St. Francis of Assisi Knights of Columbus Council 13825 is selling fish dinners in the San Damiano Center (behind the Church) located at 4300 Meeks Drive from 5 to 7 p.m. on the following Lenten Fridays: March 16 and March 23. Dinner includes two pieces of fish, French fries, hushpuppies, coleslaw, drink and dessert for $8.

 

Youth Department Fish Dinner Fundraiser

The Mount Calvary Youth Department will be sponsoring its Annual Good Friday Fish Dinner Sale on Friday, March 30. The Plates will consist of Fish, Potato Salad, Green Beans, Bread and Cake for $8. Dinners can be purchased from any Youth Department Matron, Patron, Youth Member or call the church at (409) 883-8582.

 

Feeding the Hungry

Mt. Olive Baptist Church is Feeding the Hungry at 12 Noon gathering with prayer every Thursday at the Rosa Watson Caring Kitchen located at 106 West Park Ave. in Orange. Rev. Ronnie Crockett, pastor. For more information call 886-2508

 

Assistance needed

Prayer meeting headed by Pastor Curley Richard of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Monday – Friday at 1207 Link Ave. in Orange.

 

Soup Kitchen

1st Presbyterian Church located at 902 Green Ave. in Orange offers lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays.
