Lady Cards play well at SE Texas Invitational

HUFFMAN — The Bridge City Lady Cardinals finished the Southeast Texas Invitational Tournament with a 4-2 record overall.

BC defeated Kelly 8-0,  Huffman 3-0, Tarkington 4-0, and Sabine Pass 8-0. Austyn Daniels received the loss against Diboll in a close score of 3-2 but bounced back on Saturday to earn the win over Sabine Pass. Kassidy Wilbur also fell short against Liberty on the mound Thursday due to some defensive miscues by a score of 3-1. Although Wilbur quickly made work of Kelly, Huffman, and Tarkington pitching a complete shut out in each game. In just three games Wilbur struck out 44 hitters, gave up just eight hits, and only walked three batters.

The Cardinals offense was lead by Kassidy Wilbur, Kyndall Harrison, Caitlin Dension, and Chloe Halliburton.

For the tournament Wilbur was 8-18 with a home run, 1 triple, three doubles, and seven runs scored.

Harrison was 5-8 with four RBIs.

Denison had great consistency at the plate with three RBIs.

Halliburton hit as the DP and also had four RBIs.
