LC-M golfers tie for 1st in team field, Burke sizzles to a season-low 69

BEAUMONT — Little Cypress-Mauriceville’s boys golf team tied Beaumont West Brook for first-place and Bear freshman Jack Burke broke his own freshman record, by firing a 69 to capture his fourth individual title of the season at the Larry Paine Memorial Golf Tournament at Henry Homberg Golf Course.

Both LC-M and West Brook each fired a team score of 329.

Behind Burke’s sizzling 69 for the Bears was Mason Sterling, who shot a season-low 86 along with teammates Jack Tindel (87), Blade Broussard (87) and Luke Spell (128).

West Brook’s Cameron Barrett was second medalist with a 78 and fellow Bruin Jake Woods was third medalist with a 79.

Bridge City fired a 372 as Blaze Montagne had a super round of 80 followed by teammates Bryce Miller (96), Fuselier (97), Abate (99) and Matthew Murdock (108).

Orangefield had a team score of 379 led by Logan Risinger with an 83 followed by his teammates Chase Broussard (96), Blake Love (100), Kyle Pickard (100) and Georgan Grant (111).
