Lady Bears, Cards snag softball wins

JASPER — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears toppled the Jasper Lady Bulldogs 7-5 in non-district action Tuesday night.
Renna Toomey earned the win on the mound for the Lady Bears as she tossed five innings, allowing two hits while striking out two. Bailey Frenzel tossed the final two frames, allowing three hits while fanning four.
The Lady Bears picked up 11 hits against Jasper pitching.
Toomey was 2-for-2, scored twice and drove in a run. Morgan Weaver was 2-for-3, had a double and scored twice. Megan Peveto was 2-for-2 with a double and scored. Bailey Frenzel was 2-for-4. Ally White drove in a pair of runs while Joanna Henry had a RBI and Alicia Merritt scored twice.
BEAUMONT — The Bridge City Lady Cardinals edged out Beaumont Kelly 2-0 Tuesday night.
Kassidy Wilbur nabbed the win on the hill, striking out 14 Lady Bulldogs. Kyndall Harrison drove in both Bridge City runs with a two-run double.
