Bobcats squeeze past Raiders in season opener

ORANGEFIELD — A walk-off sacrifice fly led the Orangefield Bobcats past Lumberton 4-3 on Monday to kickoff the 2018 campaign. The game was tied at 3-3 with Orangefield batting in the bottom of the seventh when Blake Bradley‘s sac fly scored Johnny Armstrong for the Bobcats.

Lumberton opened up scoring in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Lumberton.

Johnny Armstrong got the win for the Bobcats. He lasted three innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out three in relief.

Mason Gonzales started the game for the Bobcats. He allowed two hits and one run over four innings, striking out six and walking zero.

ArmstrongGonzales, and Bradley each managed one hit to lead the Bobcats.

Lumberton scattered four hits in the game.

The Bobcats start the season 1-0, and will play in the Kountze Tournament later this week.
