Lady Cards to face Wheatley at H-J Friday

The Bridge City Lady Cardinals, the third-place team out of District 22-4A, will take on the District 24-4A champion Houston Wheatley Lady Wildcats Friday at 7 p.m. at Hardin-Jefferson High School in the Class 4A Region III area round of the playoffs.
The Lady Cardinals cruised past Lufkin Hudson 60-45 in the bidistrict round. The Lady Wildcats (27-3), who were ranked No. 4 in the state 4A rankings before the playoffs started, downed Liberty 82-41.
The BC-Wheatley winner will face either Hardin-Jefferson or Huntington next week in the third round.
