LC-M boys 50, H-F 29

FANNETT — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears claimed a 50-29 road win over the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns Friday night in District 22-4A action.

The Bears (21-12, 7-2) jumped out to a 18-5 lead in the first quarter and never looked back against the Longhorns (1-19, 0-9).

All of the Bears saw some action as Katon Brown led the way with 13 points and five rebounds.

Christian Weatherly, Tyrese Heard and Donanarius Brown each had seven points for the Bears.

LC-M will visit West Orange-Stark (13-14, 6-3) Tuesday. WO_S fell to 22-4A champion Silsbee 105-62 Friday. A LC-M win Tuesday would give the Bears the second-place playoff seed out of 22-4A. A WO-S win would force a second-place tie and the two would likely play again for seeding as both will be in the playoffs no matter what.
