Lady Bobcats trip up WO-S

WEST ORANGE — The Orangefield Lady Bobcats got in a nice tuneup for the Class 4A Region III playoffs by going to Mustang Gym Friday night and wrapping up the District 22-4A campaign with a 56-37 victory over the West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs.

The Lady Bobcats wrapped up the 22-4A campaign with a 8-2 record to earn the No. 2 playoff seed behind first-place Silsbee, which went 10-0.

The Lady Mustangs finished the 22-4A season with a 1-9 mark.

The Lady Bobcats jumped out to a 15-7 lead in the first quarter, expanded it to 36-10 at intermission, and cruised in the second half to win by 19.

Faith Fregia continues to have the hot hand for the Lady Bobcats as she poured in a game-high 21 points to go along with three steals, three assists and three rebounds.

Cameron Choate hammered her way into the paint for another huge double-double as she finished with 14 points, 19 rebounds and a pair of steals.

Emmi Lummus contributed six points, five rebounds and five steals. Jacey Bourque had five points and four boards. Kylie Elkins added five points while Jayme Deutsch had six rebounds.
