From staff reports

Beaumont Police Department issued a press release concerning a video circulating social media and warning people to not share it.

Beaumont Police Department has been made aware of a video circulating social media depicting child pornography. In the event that this disturbing video comes across your social media account, DO NOT SHARE IT!

The most important thing you can do is report the image/video to the appropriate social media company (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).

Facebook tracks illegal videos/images like this one to the actual source and preserves all of the links to the image or video. They forward the information to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, who then forwards it to the appropriate law enforcement agency for investigation.

Sharing/tagging others in the video is against the law and is considered Promotion of Child Pornography. By sharing the video, others are being unnecessarily exposed to the disturbing images, as well as continued exposure of the innocent victim. If there is an instance where you know the identity of the suspect or victim in an illegal video/image, then you should contact your local police department to report it, according to a press release from Beaumont Police Department.
