COLLEGE STATION, Texas – University of Texas-Arlington junior Alexus Henry smashed her own school record in the indoor high jump and moved to No. 2 in the NCAA this season to highlight day one of action at Texas A&M’s Charlie Thomas Invitational.

Henry cleared 6-1 ¼ (1.86m) while competing in the event during the pentathlon. She surpassed her old record (5-11 ½) set in 2016 by nearly two inches. She is the first UTA female to top the 6-foot mark indoor or outdoor.

The top 16 individuals after the regular season and conference meets are completed will qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships March 9-10 in College Station. Last year’s cut-off height was 6-0 ½.
