Silsbee boys 82, OF 53

ORANGEFIELD — The Orangefield Bobcats battled hard against defending Class 4A state champion Silsbee but still fell short to the Tigers 82-53 in District 22-4A play at Bobcat Gym.

The Tigers (19-8, 6-0) led 21-12 at the end of the first quarter and upped their cushion to 41-24 at the half and then went on a 24-9 spurt in the third quarter.

Alex Catt and Tyrone Waggoner led the Bobcats (14-14, 1-5) with 11 points apiece while Aven Lathrop had seven and Dylan Williams six.

Williams hauled in seven rebounds while Waggoner had six. Zach Dischler had three steals and Jacob Rainey had three assists.

The Bobcats will head to LC-M Friday while Silsbee welcomes Hamshire-Fannett.
