In a message from Vinton Chief of Police, residents are told to avoid West Street in front of Lucky Delta due to an over turned tanker carrying hazardous materials:

West street in front Lucky Delta is closed until further notice due to a tanker truck carrying hazardous materials flipped over. Please avoid the area until an all clear is given. Please use exit 8 or exit 4 to enter and exit I-10 until the truck is removed.
Delta fuel, Lucky Delta, Burger King, Sonic and Cobblestone Hotel have been closed and evacuated as a precaution.
There is no hazard to the public at this time and warnings will be issued to protect the public if needed.
