FANNETT — After two straight gut-wrenching losses, the Orangefield Bobcats snared their first District 22-4A win of the season by going on the road and defeating the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns 53-21.

The Bobcats (14-13, 1-4) had a 58-56 loss to WO-S and a 58-56 loss to Bridge City in their last two outings but responded well Friday night in downing the woeful Longhorns (1-16, 0-5).

Ryan Deutsch powered the Bobcat attack with 14 points as the Bobcats darted out to a 15-3 lead and never looked back.

Alex Catt chimed in with eight points and eight rebounds while Aven Lathrop, Kaiden DuBose, Zach Dischler and Tyrone Waggoner scored five points each. Lathrop had four steals while Dischler and Dylan Williams had three apiece.

The Bobcats will host first-place Silsbee Tuesday while H-F visits WO-S.

Silsbee (18-8, 5-0) defeated Bridge City (9-14, 2-3) 95-52 Friday as the Tigers took off early and led 48-20 at the half.

Bridge City will host LC-M Tuesday.
