UPDATE: Major Crash on Interstate 10 in Jefferson County

UPDATE-The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) can confirm that both deceased victims in the early morning crash were from Beaumont.

The driver, 38-year-old Thad Douglas, and his female passenger, 35-year-old Jamie Brown, were both pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Chesson at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation as Troopers work to determine the exact factors that contributed to this fatal crash.

PRESS RELEASE- At approximately 1:30a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to a one vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Jefferson County.  The crash occurred near FM 365.
Preliminary reports indicate that a Volkswagen passenger vehicle was traveling westbound on Interstate 10.  For an unknown reason, the driver lost control, traveled off the roadway and rolled over before coming to rest.
Both occupants were pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Ray Chesson at the scene.
The names of the occupants will not be released until the next of kin has been notified by the investigating Trooper.
All information is preliminary and there are no further details to be released at this time.
