LITTLE CYPRESS — Little Cypress-Mauriceville junior distance running standout Eli Peveto continues to raise the bar for himself.

Peveto recently ran in the high school portion of the Texas A&M University indoor meet.

Peveto blistered the indoor setting as he set a new personal-record, running the mile in four minutes, 32 seconds.

Peveto placed second in his heat.

Overall, there were more than 238 runners that participated and Peveto clocked in with the eight best time.

Peveto is preparing to have another superb track season after getting to the Class 4A State Meet last season in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meters.

Peveto has also been the District 22-4A cross country champion the last three years and Region III champion the last two years.
