Lamar diamond tickets on sale now

Season tickets for the upcoming Lamar University softball and baseball season are now on sale.
The softball team, which enters its sixth season under coach Holly Bruder after reviving the program in 2013, come off a season which saw its first-ever appearance in a national postseason tournament, advancing to the finals of the National Invitational Softball Championship before losing a weather-related decision to host Liberty University in the finals.
Reserved seats for all 15 home dates, including the annual Cardinal Classic, are $80. General-admission season tickets are $65 for adults and $45 for senior citizens (over 65) and youths (17 and younger). Tickets are available online, by phone at (409) 880-1715, or at the Lamar Ticket Office located in the Montagne Center.
Individual-game tickets go on sale Feb. 1.
The Cardinals open the home season at 2 p.m. Feb. 19 with a doubleheader against the Washington Huskies, who advanced to the Women’s College World Series last season. Other non-conference opponents are Eastern Kentucky, Dartmouth and Houston. The Cardinal Classic, which is scheduled for Feb. 23-25, includes Alabama A&M and Binghamton.
Last season, the Cardinals went 19-9 at the Lamar University Softball Complex.
The Cardinals will play four Southland Conference home series this season, highlighted by visit from archrival McNeese, the defending Southland Conference champion, on April 20 and April 21.
The home schedule wraps up with a series vs. Incarnate Word on April 27 and April 28.
Reserved seats for all 28 home date for the Cardinals’ baseball team are $95. General admission season tickets are $75 for adults, $50 for children and seniors.
Individual-game tickets are $7 (reserved), $5 for adult general admission and $3 for children and seniors.
Thirteen different baseball teams will visit Beaumont in 2018, including eight teams before the Cardinals open Southland conference play Friday, March 9 against Sam Houston State. Lamar will have the benefit of being home for 18 of its first 21 games to start the season.
The Cardinals will kick off the year Friday, Feb. 16 with the annual Cardinal Classic in Beaumont. The Cardinals will host Texas Southern, Missouri State and Illinois in the season-opening tournament. Big Red will face each of those teams once in the three-day tournament, before traveling to Austin, Texas for a date with the Longhorns (Feb. 21).
