WINNIE — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears brought home a trophy by winning the Silver Bracket Championship at the East Chambers Tournament last week.

The Lady Bears began pool play in the East Chambers Holiday Classic on Wednesday defeating the Jasper Lady Bulldogs 56-50.  Chelsea Perry and Jacie Miller each had 18 points to lead the way.

They then fell to the Port Neches-Groves Lady Indians 61-39.  Genesis Barclay led the Lady Bears with nine points, eight boards and five blocked shots.

On Thursday, the Lady Bears beat the Huffman Lady Falcons 48-44.  Chelsea Perry, who made the All-Tournament team, again led the way with 16 points, eight rebounds, and four steals.  Jacie Miller added 10 points and six boards.  In the following game, the Lady Bears lost to Halletsville 56-32.  Chelsea Perry led with 11 points, and four steals.  Friday began bracket play in the Silver bracket, as LC-M defeated the Tarkington Lady Longhorns 43-40.  Zaria Johnson led with 10 points and pulled down four rebounds.  The Silver bracket championship paired LCM with Huffman again.  The Lady Bears won 48-37.  Chelsea Perry led again with 17 points.  Karly Rogers added 10 points, eight boards and three blocked shots.  The Lady Bears open District 22-4A play on Friday, hosting Hamshire-Fannett in The Grove at LCM.
