What do the numbers tell us?

Fifty-five percent of votes cast were from Vidor, Bridge City and Orangefield.  Ninety-three percent of those votes were against establishment of a hospital district.  Four boxes in County Commissioner Precinct 1 voted for the district by a margin of 65% for and 35% against.  The boxes include 2, 3, 4 and 5.  Precinct 1 as a whole rejected the proposal at a rate of 38% against and 62% for.  Precinct 2 rejected the district by a margin of 82% against and 18% for.

Early Election Numbers

Orange County early voting results indicate a majority of voters oppose creation of a hospital district.  With 5,622 votes cast during the early voting period the tally is 4,708 or 83.76% against and 913 or 16.24% for.
