BEAUMONT – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) members in the Beaumont District Office are excited to announce their charitable partnership with Nutrition and Services for Seniors and the Southeast Texas Food Bank during the Holidays.

DPS will leverage relationships with both organizations to positively impact Southeast Texas through the charitable program called 21-Days of Giving. Members of the department will participate in the Meals-on-Wheels program for six days throughout the months of November and December. Additionally, DPS will help stamp out hunger in the community by preparing bags of food at the Southeast Texas Food Bank in December.

“Our Troopers work each and every day to make sure that Texas highways are safe, but it is important for us to give back during the holidays,” Captain Michelle McDaniel said. “The 21-Days of Giving is an excellent way for our employees to volunteer and help the communities that we are sworn to protect.”

For the past six years, DPS has participated in the 21-Days of Giving allowing our employees the opportunity to volunteer between the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Through this program, DPS members have collected hundreds of toys to give to children in Southeast Texas.
