ORANGEFIELD — Able to keep the Port Neches-Groves Lady Indians at bay by leading start to finish, the Orangefield Lady Bobcats claimed a 46-38 non-district win at Bobcat Gym Monday afternoon.

The Lady Bobcats (2-2) jumped out to an early 13-4 edge in the first quarter but the Lady Indians constantly pushed back to get into the game the rest of the way until the Lady Bobcats finally had another quick flurry in the fourth quarter.

Guard Emmi Lummmus paced the Orangefield attack as she filtered in 19 points and went 10-of-11 from the free-throw line.

Fellow guard Faith Fregia pumped in 13 points. Post Cameron Choate powered her way to eight points and six rebounds while forward Jayme Deutsch added four points and a team-high nine rebounds.

Priddy tallied five points in the quarter while Brintney Brevell had four points. Lummmus had four points for Orangefield in the period and drained a long three-pointer.

The duo combined to score all 14 Lady Bobcat points in the quarter as they had three field goals and went 8-of-9 from the foul line.
