Christmas Parade will have new route

It will be “A Very Merry Hollywood Christmas” as Kiwanis Club of Orange presents the 69th Annual Orange Christmas Parade.
The lighted parade, being held in memory of the late Ben Culpepper, Jr., will include floats, bands, and dance teams from area schools, businesses, and organizations featuring music, costumes, and lighted displays.
The Kiwanis Club appreciates G&G Enterprises, Beaty Insurance Agency and Best Hospice Care of Texas for their assistance in producing this year’s festivities.
The parade will take place at 6:15 p.m. on December 1, where Bassmaster Professional Angler and Champion Carl Svebek, will preside as Grand Marshal. Immediately following the parade will be a Tree Lighting ceremony at the City of Orange City Hall.
Entry forms can be downloaded from the Kiwanis Club of Orange, TX Facebook page or picked up in person at Mann Insurance Agency, 1505 W. Park Ave. in Orange.
This year’s parade will feature a new route. Participants will begin at the intersection of Front and 8th Streets, travel east, turn right on 10th street, proceed to Green Ave. where they will take another right, travel East on Green to 1st Street where they will turn right. The parade travels down 1st to Front, where they will conclude the event at the corner of Front and 8th.
Following the parade, the awards ceremony will take place near the judge’s stand in front of City Hall followed by the annual Christmas tree lighting. For more information, visit the Kiwanis Club of Orange, TX Facebook Page.
