Houston, Texas – In response to Hurricane Harvey, the Independent Beer Distributors Relief Fund announced today a $30,000 donation to the American Red Cross to assist with disaster relief efforts in Southeast Texas for the thousands of people who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

The American Red Cross has provided critical assistance in the form of temporary shelter, food, clean water and other life-saving essentials to those who need it most in the aftermath of the widespread and catastrophic flooding from Hurricane Harvey.

Peter Williamson, VP, Corporate Relations and Communication for Del Papa Distributing Company, who presented the check on behalf of the Independent Beer Distributors Relief Fund, stated “ Independent Beer Distributors from across the Country are committed to helping those in need especially in our local communities where we and our employees live and work. We offer our heartfelt sympathies and thoughts to all of our employees, retail customers, and others in this region who have been impacted by this devastating storm”.

Established in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, several independent Texas Beer Distributors formed a non-profit to help ensure resources were available to go directly to those victims and communities around the country most affected by natural or manmade disasters. The Independent Beer Distributors Relief Fund will distribute their donations on an as-needed basis as determined by its board.
