WOS Middle School played Mauriceville Middle School Thursday night. The 7th grade team starting things off with a 40-0 win over the Panthers. Cal Jones connected with Dylan Spencer for a touchdown, rushed for another and scored his third touchdown of the night on a interception returned for a pick six. Marqurious Garrett also scored on defense with a fumble recovery returned for a td and Isaiah Thomas returned the second half kickoff for the Stallions final touchdown. Jamaal Shaw was successful on 2 two point conversions along with Garrett, Jeremiah Gardner and Dakarion Judge each converting one of their own. The 7th grade team recorded their 4th shutout of the season lead on defense by Jailen Brown and Jeremiah Gardner. The 8th grade team got off to a slow start, but would turn things around in the second half to win 18-0. Jayson Zeigler rushed for two touchdowns and Jartayvon Craven had a pick six of his own to complete the scoring for the Stallions. The defense would help kick start the offense with multiple turnovers once again. Jadon Jones intercepted two passes, Elijah Gales intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble, Jaqualion Chaney recovered a fumble and Craven with his interception. Both teams improved to 4-0 on the season and will travel to Liberty next Thursday night for 3 games with kickoff at 5:00.
