Lady Bears sweep past Lady Bobcats

LITTLE CYPRESS — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears powered their way to a 25-15, 25-20, 25-21 District 22-4A victory over the Orangefield Lady Bobcats last Friday night on Senior Night.
The Lady Bears improved to 8-1 in 22-4A play and moved to be all alone in first-place in the 22-4A standings after Silsbee defeated Hamshire-Fannett (7-2) Friday.
Kaitlin Avery powered the Lady Bears at the net against the Lady Bobcats (3-6 in district), notching 11 kills while Ally White had 10, Chelsea Perry six and Renna Toomey and Skyler Ferguson four apiece.
Perry was amazing along the frontline as she posted a whopping seven blocks.
McCartney Miller led the way with 19 digs while Avery had seven while White and Kayla Dominguez had six apiece.
Dominguez set up the offense well with 33 assists while Asjah Harper-Kelly had three aces.
Devany Crain notched eight kills for the Lady Bobcats while Bailee Click had four and Jessica Metts three.
Faith Fregia claimed 15 digs while Crain had 12 and Taylor Decker eight. Decker also had a team-high 14 assists and Click had two blocks.
The Lady Bears will visit Silsbee Tuesday while Orangefield welcomes West Orange-Stark.
