Making good choices in life can improve your health and lower your risk of heart disease or stroke.

Rasheeda Daugherty, Corporate Market Director, with the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association spoke Tuesday to the Orange chapter of Rotary International. She outlined the benefits of making good choices, which lead to good health.

The simple seven include; quit smoking, maintain a healthy weight, get active, eat better, control cholesterol, manage blood pressure and reduce blood sugar.

Daugherty stressed the importance of managing all seven areas. However benefits can be gained by successfully paying close attention to three our four of the seven.
