A special Orange County Commissioners’ Court session was held October 9, 2017 at 4:00 PM to address several pressing matters. First item on the agenda was the motion for a resolution to approve funds from Orange County to Orange Community Action Association (aka Meals on Wheels Program). The program provides home-delivered meal services to Orange County citizens in need and as Judge Stephen Brint Carlton explained, “Orange County has supported the program for many years.” Carlton then made a motion the county provide $40,000 to the program this year, which is equal to the same funding amount made last year. The motion was approved unanimously.

The court also discussed the execution of agreements or other documents to address issues related to Hurricane Harvey.

As Assistant County Attorney Douglas E. Manning stated, “Because of changes to the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) governing contracts, our current contracts need updated language to be in compliance.”

Carlton explained there is “no change to the cost or terms and conditions” of the agreements, “simply updated wording for compliance purposes with the updated CFR.”

Manning confirmed that was the case and the motion was approved unanimously to update current contracts with the new language.
