Vidor Officer injured in collision

A Vidor Police Officer was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for injuries received when his vehicle was struck at 2:43 a.m. Friday.

Vidor Police Department received a radio call from one of their Officer’s stating he was involved in a fleet accident and was requesting an ambulance.

Officers of the Vidor Police Department responded to Interstate 10 at 864 mile marker.

Officers arrived at the scene to find the officer in his patrol unit when it was struck. The driver of the other vehicle was still at the scene.

Both the Officer and the driver were later transported to the St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

The Officer suffered injuries from the impact of the collision as he was sitting in the driver’s seat. He has since then been released from the hospital.

This incident is currently under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
