Special to The Leader

Howell Furniture, will be donating furniture and mattress sets to the United Way chapters in North Jefferson County, Mid and South Jefferson County and Orange County. The areas served by the United Way represent the bulk of our communities that were flooded by Hurricane Harvey.

Truckloads of furniture and mattress sets will be distributed through the three local United Way chapters to local charities.

This was made possible in part by vendors like Serta, Vaughn Bassett and Furniture First, a national buying group of which Howell Furniture is a member.

Donations including 2200 cases of water, a truckload of cleaning supplies, and cash donations have already been distributed into the community through Howell Furniture with the help of Mayo Furniture, Risk Assurance Protection, and Loloi Rugs.

“As a third generation, locally owned company for almost 60 years, we feel it is our duty to help rebuild our community and give what we can to help.   In addition, our employees have given countless hours to the relief effort and we are so proud that they are a part of the Howell Furniture family. – Shawn Hanley, Partner, Howell Furniture.
