Lady Bears roar past Orangefield in three

ORANGEFIELD — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears continue to show their might in District 22-4A volleyball as they have yet to drop a game as they rolled past the Orangefield Lady Bobcats 25-8, 25-11, 25-19 at Bobcat Gym Tuesday night.

All White paced the Lady Bears (4-0 in district) at the net, finishing with 13 kills. Renna Toomey had six kills while Kaitlin Avery had five and Chelsea Perry added four.

The Lady Bears finished with 33 kills while the Lady Bobcats (0-4 in district) collected 17.

Bailee Click paced the Lady Bobcats with five kills while Mackenzie Davis had four and Devany Crain three.

LC-M controlled the match throughout with brilliant serving, finishing with 50 service points to go along with 15 aces.

Perry, who served up seven straight points and three aces in Game Two, finished with 14 points and five aces. Avery finished with seven points and three aces. Toomey had seven points and an ace. Rachel Belcher served up six points and an ace while Kayla Dominguez had five points and an ace.

Davis had four points and two aces for the Lady Bobcats. Taylor Decker had four points and an ace while Faith Fregia added three points, two aces and a pair of kills.

The Lady Bears closed out Game One with a 15-3 spurt.

Game Two was tight but the Lady Bears pulled away from a 10-9 lead by tallying 15 of the final 17 points.

LC-M led Game Three by as much as 23-11 but the Lady Bobcats showed fight, pulling to as close as 24-19.

The Lady Bears will play host to Silsbee Friday while the Lady Bobcats head to West Orange-Stark.
