Special to The Leader

There is a significant need for volunteers at the Golden Triangle Salvation Army Distribution Center in Beaumont (1490 N. 7th St); volunteers are needed every day from 9a.m. to 5p.m. and also every day in Orange (1950 M.L.K. Jr Dr) from 9a.m. to 5p.m.

As the community makes strides toward recovery, The Salvation Army continues to meet the need. With today’s service numbers, The Salvation Army in the Golden Triangle has:

  • Served 76,454 hot meals through the 8 mobile feeding units, 3 catering trucks and the Orange Corps.
  • Served 107,301 snacks and 63,926 drinks provided across the Golden Triangle.

Each day, The Salvation Army deploys its canteens to prepare and serve food in locations defined by current need.  These locations include both fixed (the canteen will be stationary most of the day) and roving (just as it sounds, the canteen drives around a predefined area serving survivors).  Below are the fixed locations currently scheduled for Friday’s canteen deployment.  Unless otherwise noted, locations can anticipate meal service to start no later than noon, and continue until supplies are exhausted.

  • Orange -Family Dollar Store, 115 W. Bolivar St, Vidor (MS Gulf Coast Catering)
  • Orange -Deweyville Post Office – 680 Texas State Hwy 272
