BRIDGE CITY — The Livingston Lady Lions came to Bridge City Tuesday and downed the Bridge City Lady Cardinals 3-1 in non-district volleyball action but the non-district match meant so much to both teams.

Bridge City coach Becca Mathews Peveto coached Livingston coach Christina Jaques, who was a standout for the Lady Cardinals in volleyball, basketball, softball and track throughout her years as a Lady Cardinal.

Jaques and Livingston agreed to come play at Bridge City Tuesday when the Lady Cardinals were desperately trying to find a match.

Not only did the Lady Lions show up to play, but the Lady Lions showed up with gift baskets and handwritten cards for the Lady Cardinal players.
