The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is monitoring Tropical Storm Harvey, which has shifted to the east this evening. This means the forecast track has shifted to the east and slowed down. Landfall projection is 6 to 9 am in eastern Cameron Parish.

Unfortunately, a large area of rain with embedded thunderstorms has been sitting over southeast Texas this evening. As much as 10 to 15 inches of rain is possible overnight, further exasperating the flood problems in Hardin, Jefferson, and Orange counties. Further to the north 5 to 10 inches of rain is possible in Tyler, Jasper, and Newton counties.
Vernon, Beauregard, Calcasieu, and Cameron Parishes are also vulnerable to more flooding overnight, with 4 to 8 inches of rain possible.
