Lady Bears thwart Nederland for big road win

NEDERLAND — After dropping their first game on the road at Nederland, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears rallied for a 21-25, 25-16, 25-15, 28-26 victory over the Lady Bulldogs in non-district action.

Kaitlin Avery powered the balanced Lady Bears with 17 kills while Renna Toomey had 14 and Ally White 10.

Chelsea Perry had an excellent overall match with 13 digs, seven assists, five blocks and four kills.

Kayla Dominguez set up the offense superbly, notching 30 assists while Morgan Weaver posted 16 assists.

Toomey led the way with 31 digs. McCartney Miller had 30 digs while Avery had 29.

White contributed 11 blocks.

Asjah Harper-Kelly had seven kills and four digs.
