Kam Wah Buffet, located at 150 Strickland Drive in Orange, will see the Orange County Health and Code Compliance Inspector daily after a recent inspection resulted in a 63 out of a possible 100.

The health inspector entered the restaurant with the employees as they were arriving for the day and witnessed fried shrimp in a bucket from the night before. Other demerits included uncovered foods found inside coolers and freezers, foods being stored inside ice machine, and improper storage of raw meats.

Several containers of dirty dishes were found from the previous night, as well as the inspector witnessing no handwashing by employees prior to cooking, as well as toxic items stored on top shelf near the prep table, and foods from the night before found inside sinks and dishwasher.

The health inspector noted on the report, “Inspector walked in when employees arrived for work. Found lots of violations and lots of cleaning that had not been done the night before. Need to clean before going home at night and all foods need to be covered, dated and placed inside cooler/freezer before going home. Follow up visits are required by the inspector.”
