Little Cypress-Mauriceville graduate Gage Spence recently signed to run track with Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas.
Tabor is an NAIA institution that competes in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
The Bluejays are coming off a year in which they won the Commissioners Cup for overall excellence in the conference, and were ranked 46th in the country in the Director’s Cup, the highest finish for a KCAC school.
Spence, who graduated from LC-M in May, has been the District 22-4A 300-meter hurdles champion and a regional finalist. He was also extremely competitive in the 110-meter hurdles, the high jump at the 400-meter relay for the Bear track program.
“I’m very excited about Gage joining our men’s track team,” said Tabor coach Dave Kroeker. “He will make an immediate impact on our hurdle group, as a long jumper, and on our relays.”
