PRESS RELEASE — At approximately 8:00a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 10, near the Neches River bridge, in Orange County.

Initial reports indicated that a Honda Civic was traveling westbound  in the inside lane on Interstate 10 followed by a Kia passenger vehicle.  Due to normal morning traffic, both vehicles began to slow down when the Kia was rear-ended by a Chevrolet pickup truck.  The impact of the collision caused the Kia to rear-end the Honda.

After the initial crash occurred, the driver of a Toyota passenger vehicle failed to control her speed and struck the Chevrolet pickup truck that was involved in the first crash.

There were no reported injuries in either crash.

The driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck, Johnny Fagg, 39, of Vidor, and the driver of the Toyota, 40-year-old Christie Gordon of Orange, were both issued traffic citations for failure to control speed.
